50th Anniversary Events You Don’t Want to Miss

  BTC’s Ever Popular Welding Rodeo:
Friday, May 16th and Saturday, May 17th - starting at 8:00 a.m.
Ever wonder what happens when professional welders, welding artists and heaps of scrap metal meet up for two days? Remarkable metal sculptures. Ten amateur and 10 professional teams will compete for sculpture prizes.  Finished sculptures will be auctioned off on Saturday. All net proceeds to be used for Welding Program student scholarships. Food, beverage and vendor booths are included in the mix.

Friday, May 16th
  • 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
    		• Amateur Sculpture Fabrication
  • 1:00 p.m.
    		• Silent Amateur Auction Opens
    (The Silent Auction runs 1:00 – 5:30 p.m. Friday and continues through Saturday until 4:30 p.m.)
  • 5:00 p.m.
    		• Award Presentation – Amateur Team Sculptures
      
    Saturday, May 17th
  • 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
    		•  Professional Sculpture Fabrication
  • 4:30 p.m.
    		• Silent Amateur Auction Closes
  • 4:30 - 4:45 p.m.
    		•  Silent Auction Results Announced – Amateur Team Sculptures
  • 4:45 - 5:00 p.m.
    		•  Awards Presentation – Professional Team Sculptures
  • 5:00 p.m.
    		•  Live Auction Begins

    Campus Wide Celebration:
    Saturday, May 17th - Noon to 4:00 p.m. 
    There’ll be free interactive activities for all ages, entertainment, a History and Memory display featuring great old photos from BTC’s early days, prize drawings, an outstanding Art Showcase (yes, you can purchase the art), a BTC alumni booth and more.  Come enjoy this festive tribute to BTC’s Golden Anniversary.
