Program Description The Electronics-Telecommunications Technician program prepares students for employment as technicians in the telecommunication
industry. Communication systems (wired, wireless, data, text, VOIP, etc.) are critical in today’s business world. Technicians who understand the many protocols and technologies are in demand. Graduates may work for a local telephone company or as a field service technician for a national company. Telecommunications technicians play an important role in the installation of fiber optics equipment and other high tech system components.

Students may apply for an Associate in Applied Science degree or an Associate in Applied Science - Transfer degree upon completion and verification of required courses and standards. Students may successfully challenge CAP 101, Introduction to Computers by passing the three IC3 Certification tests.
Program Outcomes Graduates will demonstrate competency in electrical/electronic safety, direct current, alternating current, basic test equipment, semiconductors, op-amps, digital systems, and troubleshooting along with competency in telecommunications technology.
Application & Registration Students may enroll in the Electronics-Biomedical Equipment Technician program at the start of fall, winter or spring quarter or at other times with instructor permission.
