Bellingham Technical College announces Partner for Healthcare Education in India

Bellingham Technical College (BTC) today announced an agreement with Grimus Technologies Inc. and Guru Nanak Institute of Health Sciences and Research to provide nursing education in India.
Guru Nanak Institute of Health Sciences and Research (GN Institute) is an Indian charitable society that operates a nursing school in the village of Athouli, in the District of Karpurthala, Punjab, India;
Grimus Technologies Inc. is a BC registered and based company focused on healthcare projects, healthcare education, and healthcare placement.
Brief Background info:
. In the 2003/4 academic year BTC offered a three-month Nursing Patient Care Management course in India. Based on this experience BTC has agreed to collaborate with Grimus and GN Institute in offering a Diploma Nursing program in Athouli, Punjab.
. The GN Institute is an Indian nursing school owned by a charitable society and approved by the Indian Nursing Council. It began its operation in the fall of 2004 and is offering a nursing diploma program. It has asked Grimus and BTC to collaborate in offering a combined Indian and US nursing program.
. Grimus is a BC company in the healthcare education business bridging Indian and North American healthcare education technologies and programs. It has experience in facilitating and implementing international ventures.
The purpose of this partnership is to provide nursing education in India, with the standards and curriculums developed and/or endorsed by BTC, via co-enrollment of India students in GN Institute and BTC for nursing coursework and leading to a Practical Nursing (PN) certificate from BTC and a diploma from GN Institute. Enrollment will begin in Fall Quarter 2005.
